As the Official Partner of the ICC, Hyundai Motor Company is granted sponsorship rights and benefits for ICC’s tournaments, including the ICC Cricket World Cup.

About International Cricket Council

The International Cricket Council (ICC) is the international governing body of cricket. It was founded as the Imperial Cricket Conference in 1909 by representatives from England, Australia and South Africa, renamed the International Cricket Conference in 1965, and took up its current name in 1989. The ICC has 106 members: 10 Full Members that play official Test matches, 35 Associate Members, and 60 Affiliate Members. The ICC is responsible for the organization and governance of cricket's major international tournaments, most notably the Cricket World Cup.

About Cricket World Cup 2011

The ICC Cricket World Cup is the showpiece event of the cricket calendar and takes place every four years, with matches contested in a 50 overs per side format. There have been ten events so far, with the first tournament taking place in
England in 1975. The last ICC Cricket World Cup took place in 2011
in which was won by India, who hosted the tournament along with
Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. Other winners of the event include Australia
(1987, 1999, 2003, 2007), West Indies (1975, 1979), India (1983),
Pakistan (1992) and Sri Lanka (1996). The next ICC Cricket World Cup
will be staged in Australia and New Zealand in 2015.

Official Vehicles

Hyundai provided 60 vehicles for the official use of the tournament including the Sonata, Santa Fe, i10, i20, and Verna. The vehicles were used by ICC officials and staff, and other various purposes to allow fluent transportation during the tournament.

Official Ball Tour

Dealer showroom tour of the official balls to be used for the tournament.

Test Drive

Cricket fans were able to test drive Hyundai’s vehicles at dealer showrooms, with a chance to take home various gifts as well.

Car Display

Car display in main areas to be exposed to floating population and increase sponsorship awareness.

Fan Park

Cricket fans were able to view the matches with family and friends at major shopping malls, with a chance to experience various entertainment as well, all prepared by Hyundai.

ICC Tournaments

The ICC World Twenty20 is the international championship of Twenty20 cricket, organized by the International Cricket Council (ICC). The tournament is organized with both men’s and women’s competition.
The men’s tournament consists of 12 teams in which all the 10 ICC Full Members are automatically qualified and the remaining two spots are contested through ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier. The inaugural event, was firststaged at South Africa in 2007; cricket powerhouses India, Pakistan and England have each shared one championship of the three previous tournaments.
The women’s tournament consists of 8 teams in which 6 are ICC Full Members and the remaining two sports are contested through a qualifier. The tournament was fir st staged at England in 2009; England and Australia have each shared one championship of the two previous tournaments. This year’s event was held during 18th Sep. ~ 7th Oct. in 4 cities of the host country Sri Lanka. West Indies won the 2012 ICC World Twenty20.

ICC U19 Cricket World Cup is an international one-day cricket tournament contested by national Under-19 teams, organized by the International Cricket Council (ICC).
The tournament consists of 16 teams in which all the 10 ICC Full Members have automatically qualified and the remaining 6 spots have qualified through the 2011 ICC Under 19 Cricket
World Cup Qualifier. The inaugural event launched as an eight-team event back in 1988 by the Australian Cricket Board. The event was not staged after its first edition till 1998, and since then has been organized by the ICC as a 16 team biennial event.

Throughout the past 8 events, the titles has been shared by; Australia 3times, India 2times, Pakistan 2times, and England 1time. This year’s event will be held from Aug. 11th ~ 26th with matches being shared between 3 cities in the Australian state of Queensland. West Indies Cricket Board President Dr Julian Hunte has led the tributes to the West Indies cricket team following its ICC World Twenty20 2012 success.

ICC Women‘s Cricket World Cup has been running for longer than the men's version and was first staged in England in 1973, when it was won by the hosts, which beat Australia by 118 runs in the final at Edgbaston, Birmingham.
Since then there have been a further eight tournaments with Australia
winning five of them (1978, 1982, 1988, 1997 and 2005), England
winning twice (1993 and 2009) and New Zealand (2000) triumphing
once.
The tournament has been staged twice each in England
(1973 and 1993), India (1978 and 1997) , New Zealand (1982 and
2000) and Australia (1988 and 2009) as well as South Africa (2005).
The tournament has grown in stature after women's cricket merged
with International Cricket Council (ICC) in 2005.
It was staged under the aegis of the ICC for the first time in 2009.
The tenth edition of the tournament will be held in India in 2013.
